When is one idea, sentence, or philosophy worth $750 million? When that one sentence is a Mission Statement backed by Core Values and mission-directed action daily! Terry Fox was a 21-year-old Canadian who had his leg amputated due to cancer. Terry wanted to do something about cancer.

He made it his mission to raise awareness and raise money for cancer research. Terry stayed committed to that mission.

He created the “Marathon of Hope” and trained by running 26 miles daily on his prosthetic leg to raise money for cancer.

Terry’s Marathon of Hope goal was to raise $22 million, $1 for every Canadian as Terry ran across Canada.

Terry survived long enough to see $24 million raised from the marathon to reach his goal. Terry died at the age of 22 on June 28, 1981. Annual Terry Fox runs have raised over $750 million to fight cancer.

How to Write a Mission Statement

What is the definition of a mission statement?

A mission statement is your why. It is the reason you are here. It is the reason you exist. It is the reason you breathe.

It is the reason corporations breathe. When they have a mission statement, it should describe why they are here. Your mission statement is why you are here. Your mission statement will be described for you after you pass, whether you have described one yourself during life or not.

When people talk about how you lived., they will be describing how you performed your mission or purpose on this earth.

Use THIS proven process to discover and live your mission daily. You may not raise $750 million for cancer, but you will do a lot of great things with your life with a powerful, motivating mission.
